Ivory Coast - Chilled Avocado Soup
This dinner, made in October, was possibly the strangest thing I have made for this project. This Ivorian dish of chilled avocado soup was absolutely bizarre, because after several mouthfuls, my sister and I still could not figure out if we liked it or not. Eventually, we realized what made it so strange- it reminded us of salad dressing. The texture and the temperature of the soup just lent itself perfectly to being a salad dressing, and once we got that into our heads, we honestly couldn't finish any more of the bowl. I'm not sure if anything could have improved it, it's not like it actually tasted bad, it's just that it's a very strange experience to try and eat basically just straight up salad dressing. Maybe this one just wasn't for us, but I will definitely not try this recipe again.
