Switzerland - Birchermüesli
And now we have made it to August! I just might get caught up on these posts after all!
For my Swiss recipe I decided to do something a little different, and made myself a breakfast instead of dinner. The absolutely delicious breakfast that I made was Birchermüesli. This was a wonderful and very healthy start to my day for about a week, with so many lovely fresh fruits. I was a little concerned at first that it would be a little plain or sour, since the recipe called for buttermilk and plain yoghurt, but the fruit and honey added just enough sweetness to make the müesli very tasty. There weren't a whole lot of new experiences in making this dish, but what was very beneficial about it was that it encouraged me to eat breakfast far more regularly, which of course is a very good habit to get into. This is definitely another recipe I would like to try and make again, perhaps changing up the nuts and fruits from time to time for a little more variety.
