Poland - Pierogies
Alright, no more apologies for these posts being late, they'll get done when they're done, and eventually we will be caught back up!
Way back in mid-April I made these delicious Polish pierogies. Overall, they turned out fairly well, but they were incredibly time consuming. I can definitely see why people get together to make pierogies, because by the end of the batch I was frankly pretty tired of putting them together. I think it was worth the effort in the end though, as they were very tasty, even if I had added a bit too much garlic powder in the filling. It was also nice that because the recipe made so many pierogies, we were able to have leftovers for several days, and they kept very well in the freezer, which a great bonus!
The actual process of making these felt very familiar having made the potsticker dumplings a few months ago, and although these held together better than the potstickers had, these were a little trickier to put together, possibly because the potato filling doesn't stay in one piece quite as well. But regardless of the frustrations in making them, I am glad I tried them and can now say I've made pierogies, although I likely won't make them again, unless I've got a full team to help out!
